Note Submitter: robwithhair at gmail dot com ---- If this method does properly escape characters especially copyright and trade mark symbols then this should be more clearly documented. Myself and many other people have had loads of trouble trying to get xml to escape properly in PHP, really we could do with an xml elements type function but this could have been a solution to my woes if I'd found it in time.
