In the example given, note that fetch() does not specify a http_method. Some resources require it, I
spent a long time believing my app was broken only to discover Twitter does not work without it!
Use something similar with Twitter:
<?php OAuth -> fetch('http://api.twitter.com/1/statuses/public_timeline.json',
'', OAUTH_HTTP_METHOD_GET); ?>
