This doesn't seem to be returning the string "gd" as it used to for GD images ;
PHP 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.7
I'm not sure if this is by design or a possible issue.
is_resource() is returning true, but this no longer returns "gd" as it once does.
It seems to be returning false since null probably isn't returned.
