note 104108 added to function.mysql-connect

Dear All I have some problem. i uses old mysql version 4.01 and i install php new version 5.3 to another server then i cannot connect by using mysql_connect (i think because authentication method is difference) . i cannot upgrade mysql server. and i cannot uses php other version in another server. how i should to do ? pleasseee help meeee !
