Thanks to Wil Barath for those time-saving functions, but he has an error in the function pop3_stat.
The $check line should actually be
<?php
$check = imap_mailboxmsginfo($connection);
?>
Or else you will get NULL after pop3_login! Otherwise, this seems to work perfectly.
