Please note, the __DIR__ pre-5.3.0 implementations below (jrivero24, stefan) aren't working if
you have more than one file.
Constants cannot be re-defined, therefore in those cases the __DIR__ would show the file where it
was first defined and not the actual file.
Just as chris said, there is no way to have custom implementation for __DIR__ in versions prior to
5.3.0
