No PHP Windows binary available that supports Wordpress.
I was planning to use Wordpress. So I download Wordpress, Apache, PHP. I install Apache, "It
Works". I install PHP, doesn't work. I find that it says to use VC6 versions of PHP for
Apache. I check again at http://windows.php.net/download/ and that version 5.2.17
is too old. Wordpress requires PHP 5.2.4 or greater (http://wordpress.org/about/requirements/). I
see newer binaries at http://windows.php.net/qa/ but none
from VC6. WTF. I just want to get this set up on my comp so I can play around before buying
hosting. I'm don't want to buy IIS or Visual Studio.
I see "VC9 versions of Apache can be fetched at Apache Lounge." That site is a forum.
Seriously. I know this is FOSS but wow.
I guess I'll try one of those from a random forum thread... wish me luck.
