Note that APC's internal clock is only updated at the start of the request. In CLIs that
'request' might be hours!
In some situations you can work around this by storing the ttl as a value.
apc_store($key, microtime(true) + $ttl);
$dead = apc_fetch($key) > microtime(true);
Or don't use PHP
