I have noticed that php will look for cookies even if session.use_cookies is set to 0 in php.ini or
via ini_set, when the cookie is available userside.
i tried the following:
// example start
//page1 start
<?
//disable use trans sid
ini_set ( "session.use_trans_sid", "0" );
// use cookie
ini_set ( "session.use_cookies", "1" );
session_start();
echo session_id();
?>
<a href="page2php">Link to Page 2</a>
//page1 end
//page2 start
<?
ini_set ( "session.use_trans_sid", "0" );
ini_set ("session.use_cookies", "0" );
session_start();
echo session_id();
?>
<a href="page1.php">Link to page 1</a>
//page2 end
//example end
as you will see, the sessions won't change, althogh the SID won't get passed to page2.
This is because of the cookie, stored userside.
