Regarding [michael at digitalgnosis dot removethis dot com 15-Dec-2004 11:09]; changing
"self" to "static" works as desired (I really don't know why) in your
example below:

static function Foo ()
{
static::Bar();
}
}
class Derived extends Base
{
function Bar ()
{
echo "Derived::Bar()";
}
}
Derived::Foo(); // this DOES print "Derived::Bar()"
