On Linux, I observe that rename retains the original ownership of the file.
I tried rename as root, a file owned by 'Andy' and the newly renamed file was still owned
by 'Andy'
I tried rename as 'Bob', a file owned by 'Andy', but writeable by
'Bob', and the newly renamed file was still owned by 'Andy'
