It might be better to insert a word like "WRONG" in the comment here in the documentation:
today = date('H:m:s \m \i\s\ \m\o\n\t\h'); // 17:03:18 m is month
If you just scan the page for a template to copy, you could believe (like I did) that this a valid
sample.
