Question: There doesn't appear to be a standard database access API in PHP. Instead
there's a separate API for each database supported. This is insanity for anyone that wants to
be able to support multiple databases. I know there are a number of database abstraction APIs
available for PHP but I don't know which one is the best or which one will be continue to be
supported in the future. Are there plans to address these issues in a future release of PHP by
adopting one of these abstraction APIs into PHP or creating a new one?
