It's OK to use $1, $2 etc inside double-quoted strings. Because legal variables cannot begin with a number, this is treated as literal. So all 3 of these print the same, literal string; the last one is perhaps unexpected. echo '$100'; echo "\$100"; echo "$100"; ---- Server IP: 94.76.225.145 Probable Submitter: 87.194.171.29 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.pg-query-params.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/109908 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/109908 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/109908 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
