I found that passing a serialized object as a $_POST variable requires that it is URL encoded first:
<?php
///PAGE 1
$csv = new parseCSV();
?>
<input type="hidden" name="myobject" value="
<?php
urlencode(serialize($csv));
?>"/>
<?php
///PAGE 2
$csv = unserialize(urldecode($_POST['myobject']));
?>
