Just an observation regarding fnv164 algorithm. When executing: <?php echo "fnv164 =".hash_hmac('fnv164','name','Afb$#1^38Ngt?')."<br/>"; echo "fnv164 =".hash_hmac('fnv164','name','Afb$#1^38Ngt0')."<br/>"; ?> 'Afb$#1^38Ngt?' and small change in the last digit: 'Afb$#1^38Ngt0' always result in the same output as long as I change the last digit of the sequence. 'Afb$#1^38Ngt?' gives me 553fb99a60cc0050 'Afb$#1^38Ngt0' gives me 553fb99a60cc0050 Since I don't know how the algorithm works, fnv164 it seems to be a bit unreliable when it comes to collisions. ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.199 Probable Submitter: 98.188.36.86 ---- Manual Page -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.hash-file.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/110248 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110248 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/110248 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
