At the comment of Ashley: The better idea is probably an increasing delay for each wrong password (e.g. 1st wrong password: 1 s, 2nd worng password: 2 s, 3rd wrong password: 4 s; continue doubling the time for each wrong password) instead of a fixed deleay of e.g. 2 seconds.
