As noticed by krebs Sqlite3::changes() doesn't get incremented inside of a transaction.
Neither does "select changes()", both here and in the sqlite3 shell, so this is a sqlite3
"feature".
A work around is to use Sqlite3::querySingle("select total_changes()");
