Due to the deprecation of mysql_get_host_info() in php5.5, I was wondering how else can we get the
name of the mysql host?
I'm including an automatic installer with my distributed app and I noticed none of the hosting
plans users have any idea what the mysql host address is, if it's not the usual
"localhost". They have to look it up deeply on the site panel, but only if someone tells
them how and where (depending from hosting to hosting).
Is there a fast&secure way to retrieve that address (name) in php? (before any active connection
I mean). Thank you.
