Several people have added notes here saying that collecting standard error is as simple as adding 2>&1 to the end of your command. In most cases, yes, this works fine. However, when working with subshells (including running shell scripts), this does NOT seem to work. I do not know why. If you're finding that shell_exec() never exists, this could be why. ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.199 Probable Submitter: 115.64.209.221 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/function.shell-exec.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/110927 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/110927 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/110927 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
