php5.2vc6 --- Apache 2.0.x --- Windows 7
Was not able restart Apache after installing php. Windows was throwing error(alert) "Requested
operation could not be completed".
Got frustrated after about 6-7 times install and uninstalling. Found this at last.
(regards to people who posted above.Got the idea from there.)
Install Apache in dir - C:\Program Files (x86)\
(note use <C:\Program Files\> in 32 bit machines)
Service should be up and running if you follow normal steps on install wizard(download as windows
installer program).
Install php in C:\ (root directory, not inside 'Program Files' or 'Windows').
Navigate to> C:\Program Files (x86)\Apache Group\Apache2\conf ..
Add the following lines at the end of httpd.config file
#BEGIN PHP INSTALLER EDITS - REMOVE ONLY ON UNINSTALL
ScriptAlias /php/ "C:/PHP/"
AddHandler x-httpd-php .php
Action x-httpd-php "php/php.exe"
#END PHP INSTALLER EDITS - REMOVE ONLY ON UNINSTALL
You will find the comments (lines beginning with semicolons) existing in your file.replace the
portion between.
This works.
