Here's an inspiration on how to quickly fix all scripts relying on short_open_tag being
enabled:
find -name '*.php' | xargs perl -pi -e 's/<\?= ?(.*?) ?\?>/<?php echo($1);
?>/g'
find -name '*.php' | xargs perl -pi -e 's/<\?/<?php/g'
find -name '*.php' | xargs perl -pi -e 's/<\?phpphp/<?php/g'
