The (!$a == 'hello') and ($a != 'hello') in an earlier comment is misleading. These two expressions are entirely different. ! has a higher precedence than ==, (!$a == 'hello') will return false for any value (such as a valid string) that converts into a boolean of true ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.199 Probable Submitter: 173.161.6.33 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/language.operators.comparison.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/111322 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/111322 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/111322 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
