urlencode added \ in front of ' which does not work really well with mysql. You may have to remove \ before pass it to mysql. mysql on nt4 does not mind the \, but on win98 and win2k it just does not work if you dont remove it. It could be related to the web server although I am not too sure, I am using badblue personal <? $self=basename($SCRIPT_NAME); if ($test) { print "<br>encoded - $sql<br>"; } else { $abc="select * from table1 where cole1 = 'value'"; $eabc=urlencode($abc); print "<a href=$self?test=on&sql=$eabc>link</a>"; } ?> -- http://www.php.net/manual/en/function.urlencode.php http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=edit+16381 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=delete+16381 http://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php?action=reject+16381
