I believe that example submitted by toni@dse.nl has a mistake. In order to convert back to a link
like the one below:
<a href="http://something">something</a>
this needs to be used :
$html = preg_replace("/<(($tags).*?)>/i", '<\1>', $html);
instead of what he has:
$html = preg_replace("/<($tags.*?)>/i", '<\1>', $html);
