Note that in the following example: <?= 'some string' ?> is directly equivalent to: <?php echo 'some string' ?> However, you can add more statements as for standard tags: <?= 'some string'; $a=123; echo $a; ?> In this instance, just the first statement behaves like an echo. I wouldn't recommend this syntax as this may be regarded as bad style. ---- Server IP: 69.147.83.199 Probable Submitter: 217.205.148.34 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/language.basic-syntax.phptags.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/112655 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/112655 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/112655 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
