if you switch on magic quotes for forms, you can stumble upon the following which is i guess
technically correct but hell to figure out: if you use upload forms,
the *contents* of your uploaded files
will get quoted, too. of course this can make the files unusable.
to get rid of this problem, check get_magic_quotes_gpc() and stripslashes() accordingly.
