I was creating an application to download software products in zip, tar.gz and tar.bz2 formats using
fpassthru and whilst the downloads functioned the resulting files were all corrupted.
I traced this down to zlib.output_compression being turned on.
If you exerience this then add ini_set("zlib.output_compression", "Off"); just
before you send your headers.
