If the month is greater than 12, it goes into the next year. If it is less than 1, it goes into the
previous year. Generally, it behaves as you'd expect it to :-)
Examples:
<?php
// January 1, 2005
print date ("F j, Y", mktime (0,0,0,13,1,2004));
// December 1, 2003
print date ("F j, Y", mktime (0,0,0,0,1,2004));
// February 1, 2005
print date ("F j, Y", mktime (0,0,0,14,1,2004));
// November 1, 2003
print date ("F j, Y", mktime (0,0,0,-1,1,2004));
?>
