wap and php are possible with header(), (if anyone is still interested by WAP).
after a slight edition of your apache config file :
DirectoryIndex .wml
AddType application/x-httpd-php3 .wml
On your .wml file, just add first :
<?
header('Content-type: text/vnd.wap.wml');
/* Your wap page around..*/
?>
<wml>
....
</wml>
