To summarize the caching info scattered throughout the comments, it appears that the line:
header ("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate, post-check=0, pre-check=0");
is the trick you want to stop caching by various browsers and proxy servers. Take particular note of
the no-store element, which is necessary to stop AOL's proxy servers from caching (and stop
zillions of confused AOLers from emailing you).
Also note that headers work like variables--if you define 2 Cache Control statements, the second one
overwrites the first one instead of adding it as an additional parameter (this wasn't initially
clear to me).
