For all those for whom mails cannot be sent thru php mail function and who are using qmail as their
mail sending program on server side i would like to give you a suggestion, actually that worked with
me.
First of all you need to run apache as some user who is not root and not as nobody too.. this will
happen with the suexec mechanism of Apache check apache site for more details on how to run
particluar scripts as a particular user.
so next part is that the user you take up should be into the group root
(edit /etc/group file and on the first line i.e for root group add this user on the end by putting a
root:x:0:root,username
)
editing httpd.conf as follows
search for User
and repalce the following nobody with the username and then search for the group and replace with
the users normal group.
Ideally u should not tell apache that u r running the script while that user is a group member of
root hence avoid putting root as group
e.g.
User username
Group usergrp
If u didnt follow the stuff over here you can mail me and i could possibly help ya out.
