I am creating an on-line database that has a user name and password entry page. If the user
successfully logs on the next page that loads is a frameset that consists of three frames. There is
a nav frame that dispays student names that appear according to the teacher who has logged on. The
user name drives the whole database. The nav frame holds the names of students that are links that
target to the middle frame which loads the student's information into a form which you can add,
update and delete the student's info. Once you submit, a javascript onSubmit function loads
the updated nav frame first so the correctly updated student name appears first and then the middle
frame loads second. The problem is that the user name will disapear after the refresh occurs.
I've tried using cookies, sessions, $HTTP_GET_VARS and hidden forms with no success. The user
name is almighty in this script and has to remain constant throughout every refresh. I really think
sessions is the way to go but I'm not sure wher to register the user name variable so it will
remain throughtout all refreshes. Any Ideas? Thanx
