For finding the last word of a phrase, i think a nice way would be:

$LastSpacePos = strlen ($str) - strpos(strrev($str), " ");
$LastWord = substr ($str, $LastSpacePos, strlen($str));
echo "<br>LastSpacePos=$LastSpacePos";
echo "<br>LastWord=$LastWord";
?>
