The Second line <?php echo 'This is a test' ?> will be working properly without throw any errors. You don't need to put ; at the end of statement if we using a single statement. If we add more statement only it should be add like this, <?php echo 'This is a test' echo 'This is second line' ?> See, here also no need to put ; at the end of second line. Because there is no additional statements after. ---- Server IP: 72.52.91.14 Probable Submitter: 223.234.200.7 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/language.basic-syntax.instruction-separation.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/115624 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115624 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/115624 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
