In my particular configuration (Apache Web Server on ArchLinux) the Document Root is /srv/http, hence I should put my helloworld.php file in that directory, not in /var/www, which doesn't exist. You can find out checking your server configuration. Again, with my particular configuration, if I execute (in a terminal window) the following command: cat /etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf | grep -e '^DocumentRoot' I get the output: DocumentRoot "/srv/http" which indicates me where to locate the .php files ---- Server IP: 72.52.91.14 Probable Submitter: 81.47.192.243 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/tutorial.firstpage.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/115874 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/115874 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/115874 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
