If you get the following warning : "Warning: pg_connect(): Unable to connect to PostgreSQL server: could not translate host name "server.your.trying.to.connect.to" to address:" and the server you are trying to connect to is fine and the connecting itself should be working fine, it might be the case that the postgres extension for PHP might be confused about something.
