I had strange results with this:
echo crypt("123456", "$2a$12$zironmaiden2340e3ejiox$");
... but when I changed it to this:
echo crypt('123456', '$2a$12$zironmaiden2340e3ejiox$');
... the results came out as expected. Somehow the type of quotation marks mattered in my
experience.
