There may be a bug here. I tried the CGI search engine which you can find under this URL:
http://www.xav.com/scripts/search/
(with demo Admin page where you can try to index a page using ob_gzhandler)
If you use ob_gzhandler the file size returned will always be 0 bytes, causing the spider to fail.
The Spider sends the accept-encoding none part just fine.
Maybe a bug?
I just post this as sort of a warning, it may be that somebody can't view your page when using
ob_gzhandler.
