Thanks Wil Barath for the great script - with php5.3 I ran into an issue - imap_open is triggering a
notice which, in my case, is triggering the script to end and giving me a Unknown: Mailbox is empty
(errflg=1) error. To fix that, add "OP_SILENT" to the imap_open line to make it:

(imap_open("{"."$host:$port/pop3$ssl"."}$folder",$user,$pass,OP_SILENT));
