The behaviour of mb_ereg_match to imply a ^ at the beginning of the pattern stands in stark contrast to the behaviour of mb_ereg which does NOT imply a ^. Switching between those two routines (because the need to extract a subpattern changes) requires careful consideration when to compensate for this surprising inconsistence. ---- Server IP: 72.52.91.14 Probable Submitter: 213.144.23.219 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/function.mb-ereg-match.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/118882 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/118882 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/118882 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
