I'm really NEW to PHP, so be gentle. But a few concepts really helped my understanding. 1) PHP is to Apache Server what OpenOffice BASIC is to OpenOffice. A way to make dynamic webpages on Apache Server. (Or maybe what VisualBasic is to Windows or to Microsoft Office...) 2) Because it is made for Apache, and Apache for it (perhaps) it is made to simplify handing data from a database to a webpage. It quickly turns database tables into arrays so you can iterate through the data in a loop, just inserting HTML tags as you go, like <li> and <br> as you go. Sorry this is a little simplistic, but it helped me get beyond the "why?" stage. ---- Server IP: 72.52.91.14 Probable Submitter: 24.121.16.213 ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/intro-whatis.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/121138 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/121138 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/121138 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
