I got PHP 5.2.10 working on Apache 2.2 NOT using the .msi for PHP after a half day of trying
different versions of PHP and Apache as well as changing everything from paths to folders.
Eventually from reading many of the notes listed here I thought I'd download the threadsafe
version but all I used from it were two .dll files. I took the php5apache2_2.dll and the php5ts.dll
and swaped them out in my PHP folder and bingo! started working like a charm. The php5apache2_2.dll
was probably unnecessary but I switched it out anyway.
Summary... Add php5ts to your PHP folder
