note, that it takes the RFC formatted strings swimmingly (at least on my RedHat machine)...eg,
<?
$mydate = date("r",time());
$stamp = strtotime($mydate);
?>
That *should* return an integer equivalent to the UNIX timestamp at the time time() was called the
first time.
