Spent way too much time wondering why scripts weren't executing,
when running the command from a linux box, even if your php.ini has short tags enabled
php -f filename.php
make sure the script starts with
<?php
and not
<?
otherwise the command just outputs your source code to the shell instead of the results of any
output.
