Almost every editor (even VIM) will break the syntax highlighting on the case where you have two
forward slashes in a string. Which is perfectly valid in php. In fact, you are likely to have tons
of that because of URLs.
<?php
print_r('hello // world<br>');
print_r("hello // world<br>");
$x = <<< ENDSTR
hello // world<br>
ENDSTR;
print_r( $x );
/* above will result in:
hello // world
hello // world
hello // world
but most code/text editors will show "// wold" as a comment.
*/
