The regex has one bug thought. It elminates <user>@jp.t.ne.jp addresses which are completly
valid as it needs at least 2 chars in the domain part.
This regex fixes it:
^[_a-z0-9-]+(\.[_a-z0-9-]+)*
@[a-z0-9-]+(\.[a-z0-9-]{1,})*\.([a-z]{2,}){1}$
[but the regex in one line]
