Be careful about one thing:
With a string key Php will consider it's an object:
<?php
echo json_encode(array('id'=>'testtext'));
echo json_encode(array('testtext'));
?>
Will give:
{"id":"testtext"}
["testtext"]
Beware of the string keys!
