I should point out that namespaces were implemented in PHP to resolve name clashes in userland code. It was never the intention to eventually change the entire language to use namespaces instead of prefixes (ie: change mysqli_connect() to mysqli/connect()) as this would be a huge BC break. I should also point out that the PSR standards created by the FIG group are *NOT* the official standards for PHP. While there are coding standards for contributing to PHP core, or for creating extensions, there are none for userland developers who are free to adopt whatever standards they choose. ---- Server IP: 45.112.84.4 Probable Submitter: 45.91.159.166 (proxied: 62.31.75.76) ---- Manual Page -- http://php.net/manual/en/language.namespaces.rationale.php Edit -- https://master.php.net/note/edit/125700 Del: integrated -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700/integrated Del: useless -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700/useless Del: bad code -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700/bad+code Del: spam -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700/spam Del: non-english -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700/non-english Del: in docs -- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700/in+docs Del: other reasons-- https://master.php.net/note/delete/125700 Reject -- https://master.php.net/note/reject/125700 Search -- https://master.php.net/manage/user-notes.php
