Here's an easy workaround if you need to have a string, instead of a single char, as thousands
separator. I need to have a space that won't be wrapped, so I want to have " "
instead of a " " there. To accomplish this, do the following:
$formatted_number_string = ereg_replace("
"," ",$number_format($number,2,"."," "))
